Training & Placements
We offer placements to trainee counsellors. Working with a variety of clients gives you broader experience, and there are opportunities for further training along the way.
Supported from day one
As part of your placement, you'll be supported by our student co-ordinator, who will be your initial port of call. You'll also have support and guidance from the wider team of volunteers.
Peer support every six weeks
We run a counsellor peer group every six weeks: a space to reflect on your work, share experiences and learn from each other.
How to express interest
If you're interested in a placement with Empathy Northwest, please get in touch via email or the contact form. Include a brief introduction, your training programme and level, your course supervisor's details, and what you're hoping to gain from the placement.
We'll do our best to respond promptly. Placements are subject to availability and not guaranteed, but we'll do our best to support you.
