A few important notes about using this website.

About this website

This website provides general information about Empathy Northwest CIC and the support we offer. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it may change without notice.

Not medical or clinical advice

Nothing on this site, including the self-help tools, is medical, psychological or clinical advice, or a substitute for professional care. It can't diagnose or treat any condition. If you have health concerns, please speak to a qualified professional or your GP.

In an emergency

This website is not a crisis service. If you're in immediate distress or danger, contact the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7), your GP, or call 999.

Self-help tools

The breathing and grounding tools are offered for general wellbeing and may not suit everyone. Use them only as feels comfortable, and stop if they don't. They are not therapy.

Availability and links

We can't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free. It may link to other organisations' websites; we're not responsible for their content.

Donations

Donations made through this website are voluntary. Payment is handled by our payment provider, SumUp, on its own secure pages. You can optionally add a small amount to cover the card-processing fee so more of your gift reaches us; this is entirely your choice and is never added unless you choose it. SumUp emails a payment receipt for each donation, and if you give us your email we will also send our own thank-you receipt.

You can also choose to give a regular donation, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. If you do, you will get a receipt after each payment (and, for monthly gifts, a reminder beforehand), and you can change or cancel the regular gift at any time using the link in any of those emails, with no need to contact us. As donations are gifts they are not normally refundable, but if you believe a payment was made in error or taken twice, please contact us and we will put it right.

Content and ownership

The content of this site belongs to Empathy Northwest CIC unless stated otherwise, and may not be reused without permission.

Concerns or complaints

If you are unhappy with anything about our service, please tell us first: we take concerns seriously and will do our best to put things right. You can also raise a concern about a therapist with their professional body, if they are registered with one (for example the BACP or NCPS). For concerns about how we handle your personal information, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Governing law and contact
